The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house by using a combined gross domestic income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined residence profits doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify my nsfas for funding and want not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
